Multi-Robot Systems offer promising solutions for complex, long-term missions in dynamic and uncertain environments. However, their deployment raises several challenges: how to effectively coordinate a team of heterogeneous robots? How to ensure their resilience in the face of failures and unforeseen events? How to enable intuitive collaboration with a human operator? In this talk, I will briefly explore some of these questions by presenting some of the research carried out at the Rainbow team (IRISA), which aims to develop new shared control strategies and distributed coordination methods for heterogeneous robot teams. I will illustrate these concepts through real-world applications that motivate our research.
